　　Professor Paul Kong Thoo Lin did both his undergraduate (BSc, Hons) and postgraduate studies (PhD) in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. His PhD work (1983-1986) was on heterocyclic chemistry (The synthesis and reactivity of aza-indolizines). He then spent five years (1987-1992) in Cambridge, UK (Medical Research Council, Laboratory of Molecular Biology) as a postdoctoral fellow working with the late Dr Dan Brown FRS in the area of nucleoside and oligonucleotide chemistry to produce novel DNA probes and primers.

　　Professor Paul Kong Thoo Lin is currently Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. He also holds the position of Teaching Group Leader within the school. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and an honorary Professor of the University of Highlands & Islands (UHI), Inverness, Scotland. For a number of years he has contributed to the delivery and management of many undergraduate and post graduate courses.

　　Professor Paul Kong Thoo Lin has 4 patents applications; over 75 published papers and had contributed to 2 book chapters.
